Our Concept

In our daycare center, the child is at the heart of everything we do – just as they are, with all their unique qualities. We support children individually and with a focus on their strengths throughout their day. Our work is based on the principles of the Berlin Education Program, supplemented by elements of Montessori pedagogy and an attitude that embraces diversity as an enrichment.

Children as competent individuals

We see children as independent individuals with rights, needs, and a natural curiosity. From the very beginning, they have a need to understand, participate, and act autonomously. Our daily educational practice provides them with the space to develop these abilities – through participation, co-determination, and open learning opportunities.

Living inclusion and diversity

For us, inclusion means that every child is welcome with their individual needs and circumstances. Origin, language, health conditions, or family situation – we understand all of this as part of the diversity that makes our daycare center what it is. We deliberately reserve dedicated spaces for children with special needs and structure our daily routine so that all children can participate.

Mindful relationships & nonviolent communication

Respectful relationships form the basis of our actions. We communicate with children, parents, and within the team on equal terms – openly, respectfully, and with a focus on building relationships. In our daily work, we pay attention to clear boundaries, genuine listening, emotional safety, and collaborative conflict resolution. We are guided by the principles of nonviolent communication.

Open work & prepared environment

Our spaces are designed to provide children with orientation, freedom, and independence – inspired by Montessori principles. Materials are accessible, logically arranged, and encourage exploration, experimentation, and critical thinking. Through open-ended activities, children can decide for themselves what, with whom, and where they want to work – accompanied by attentive staff.

Sustainability & Nature Experience

Sustainability is part of our everyday life. We use green electricity, work with a sustainable bank, prioritize non-toxic materials, and reduce waste through digitalization, recycling, and a "freebie" shelf for children’s items. Children experience nature directly with us: on field trips, crafting with natural materials, or through projects on environmental and natural cycles. Our vegetarian organic food also reflects conscious consumption – it’s resource-efficient, non-denominational, and delicious.
